I was bitten by the photography bug at an early age, and started taking b&w photos with an old leaky 35mm rangefinder camera given to me by a friend, and then making enlargements using the same camera lens in a home-made enlarger. My first 'serious' camera was a Kodak Retina IIIC rangefinder camera, with which I took my first Kodachrome slides. From there, I graduated to SLRs, and worked through a succession of Nikon and Canon cameras, finally abandoning film and going digital with a Nikon D80 camera. My current cameras are a Nikon D90, a Canon Powershot SD880IS, which I use for digiscoping, and a Canon Powershot SX50HS, which is a great all around travel camera. I love travel and nature, especially birds, and try to reflect the beauty of the natural world in all my shots. I started specializing in bird photography in 2007, and love both the technical and physical challenges needed to capture their beauty in digital images. I am also working on a retrospective of travel photos, from places such as Arches and Yosemite National Parks and Italy, containing images converted to digital from the original negatives and slides.
