A fine gallery. Stumbled on it through sNeilearching your name after receiving a Niagra Falls Powerpoint (2004) today. Not sure if you did the powerpoint or someone used your pictures. Michael, I stumbled upon your fantastic images during a stock photography search for a project I am currently working on. I am looking to purchase a ground level street perspective containing an avenue of shops in older buildings. The idea is to create the feel that a person is walking down this interesting street scene. It can be empty or with people, as long as it contains intriguing architecture, lighting and color. Your “Quebec City, Petit Champlain” image is quite close to what I am looking for. Could you help direct me to other images which fit this description, or perhaps some you may have which are not posted on-line, but which you would still consider selling. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Richard

Thanks for your comments on my Monteverde fern. I wish I could go back to recompose the shot, but moving so the other vine won't show would also move the background spread, which is what I liked - having both the new fern and the fully 'flowered' fern in the same shot. First I used Lightroom to crop and bring out the blacks and added some luminance to the red. This can be seen herehttp://www.pbase.com/jengle/image/72910340 Second update was to take the Lightroom version into Photoshop and soften the background using Blur tool, then smudged it a bit along with the vine in the lower right corner. Then I dodged the light areas of the background. I thought I liked the vine in the bottom right, esp. with the moss tendril creeping around it. Hmmm. Michael, thank you for kind comments about my pictures. It's a pleasure to share them with people who love photography. As per your questions I use Panasonic Lumix FZ10 digital camera . I do not use tripod for most time, but some shots, particularly nigh shots and low light shots are definitely require use of it. The sharpness of the pictures is the result of magnificent Leica lens that Panasonic uses for this camera with 12x optical zoom and optical image stabilisation.

Do you use a tripod most of the time? I noticed there are no blur pictures in your gallery, every single one of them are sharp & focus.

Hello Michael, Thanks for visiting my avilon zoo photo gallery. You have excellent shots here. I liked very much your water drops gallery and actually tried your how-to guide on shooting the water drops, although I still could not achieve the same result as in your gallery (probably due to the lighting). Anyway, I will keep on trying. I also love your Toronto shots, it brings back good memories while I was there last year visiting relatives. Keep up the good (actually excellent) work! We use lots of Mapplethorpe but encounter your orchids. The problem is that they are too low resolution... Mr. Shpuntov I just bought the Panasonic FZ10 camera and I just wanted to say that your pictures(and I have been viewing a lot of them for this camera) are among the very best. Do you use automatic or do you set the ISO at 50? It seems to be the ideal for your pictures. They are so good. Sincerely, Eunice
